Making the most of its sea views, the Kalidon Panorama definitely lives up to its name.

This place certainly gets the thumbs up for its setting. Surrounded by olive groves, it’s on a hillside overlooking Kokkari Town. The ten-minute journey costs around four euros in a cab, or you can use the free shuttle from the hotel, which will also take you to some of the nearby beaches. That said, it’s only a five-minute walk to the sands of Lemonakia Beach.

Closer to home, you’ve got the hotel’s pool. It’s an impressive scene, with a sun deck that offers up uninterrupted views out to sea. There’s plenty in the way of loungers, and white parasols stand out against the turquoise, triangular-shaped pool. There’s also a snack bar with comfy wicker chairs and plenty of shady spots.

As for the hotel itself, it’s fairly dinky as hotels go. Plump sofas and vases of fresh flowers greet you in the lobby and bar. There’s also a bright and airy dining room. Tables spill outside, so it’s a great spot for a Greek salad with a sea view.

In terms of your own private space, bedrooms are simply styled. Fuss-free walls and chunky wooden furniture are the mainstays. In-room extras include air-conditioning from July to August and satellite TVs. Plus balconies all have a view – either out to sea or over the gardens.
