Looking more like a fortified medieval palace, the Hotel Platanista on Kos will besiege with luxury and pleasure for the duration of your stay. Sparkling and fresh from a recent refurbishment, this family-run hotel is a fantastic destination if you’re looking for a holiday with a great range of activities. As well as lounging by the two pools or being pummelled in the whirlpool, you could be playing volleyball, water polo, tennis or minigolf, working out in the gym, sweating in the sauna or the hammam, or relaxing in the spa. The shingle beach is only 200 metres from the hotel, and it is well-supplied with loungers and shades.

Inside, the Platanista has an elegant cream and terracotta restaurant where wonderful buffets are the order of the day, as well as a semi-open pool tavern and bar for more casual eating and drinks. The rooms are modern and fresh with contemporary furnishings and excellent amenities; upgrades to family rooms and superior rooms are available. The centre of Kos Town is just 3.5 kilometres from the hotel, though there are some restaurants and bars that are within walking distance.
