It’s easy to see why this place has clinched five stars. The pool scene, for example, is first class. Two chunks of turquoise take centre-stage, and there’s also an adjoining children’s pool. Smart loungers and parasols frame the edge of the water, while palm trees dot the surrounding areas. Plus, the hotel hugs a sandy beach, so you get brilliant sea views from the pool terrace and the snack bar.

When it comes to activities, there’s plenty on offer. Sports-wise, we’re talking archery, tennis, canoeing, water polo and scuba diving, to name a few. At the other end of the spectrum, there’s a health and beauty centre which specialises in thalassotherapy treatments. Family-themed games and competitions are laid on throughout the day, so you can dip in and out as you like. Smaller guests, meanwhile, are kept busy with their own club, play area and games room.

When it comes to food, you’ve got a large buffet restaurant serving up a mix of international dishes and Tunisian specialities for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s also an à la carte restaurant for you to try – expect tasty dishes of meat, fish and fresh vegetables. After-dinner drinks are sorted at the lobby bar, which houses an impressive cocktail list. Alternatively, head to the Arab café for traditional Tunisian tea.

As for the rooms, they’re bright and airy, and come with air-conditioning, satellite TVs and a balcony as standard. In terms of décor, you'll find funky headboards and simple wooden furnishings.
