With the beach on its doorstep and the famous Blue Lagoon a stone’s throw away, the Olu Deniz Resort comes with a setting that’s hard to beat.

It’s safe to say this place has clinched a prime location. It’s just metres away from Belcekiz Beach – one of Turkey’s finest sand-and-shingle stretches. Plus, a 20-minute wander along the coastline takes you to the Blue Lagoon. All emerald hills and clear waters, it’s understandably one of the most photographed spots in the Med.

The hotel itself is just as good-looking. Think exposed-stone walls, wrought-iron balconies and climbing vines. Step into the lobby, meanwhile, and terracotta-coloured walls create a cosy vibe. And it’s a similar story in the bedrooms, where colourful soft-furnishings are set against crisp, whitewashed walls. Extras come in the form of air-conditioning, satellite TVs and mini-fridges. And all rooms open out onto a balcony or terrace.

Outside, plant-lined paths and chunky stone steps lead off through the hotel’s grounds. Factor in water features and a fountain and you’ve got a really pretty setting. Plus, you’ll find three swimming pools to choose from out here. Two have a separate section for children, and the third is adults-only, so it’s perfect when you want to relax.

Meals at the Olu Deniz Resort are help-yourself affairs, and the offerings are really varied. At breakfast, you’ll find things like cereal, yoghurt and pastries. The fresh-baked breads are really popular with guests, too. At lunch and dinner, meanwhile, expect everything from hearty soups to seafood dishes. Plus, you can get things like freshly cooked pizzas at snack time.
