With its pretty gardens, duo of pools and handy location, the Oscar Suites & Village is a good Aghia Marina base.
The Oscar Suites & Village is tucked among tropical gardens in a quiet, private spot. Walk for a couple of minutes through the palms, and you’ll come to Aghia Marina’s pebbly beach. Keep going for another few minutes, and you’ll be in the town centre.
The hotel had a makeover not so long ago, and the accommodation is spread out among blocks freshly-painted in pink and vanilla shades. Bougainvillea creeps up the sides of the buildings, and terracotta plant pots are scattered among the grounds. In the heart of it all, there are 2 swimming pools, and a couple of smaller children’s paddling pools.
The onsite restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. In the mornings, you’ll find a spread of cereals, cheeses and fresh fruit, while evenings are given over to a traditional Cretan menu. If you only try one thing here, go for the tasty rabbit stew, which is cooked in olive oil with tomatoes and onion.

All apartments and studios have been recently renovated to a contemporary, colourful standard and come with air-conditioning at a charge, kitchenette, flatscreen TV, hairdryer and balcony or terrace. Studios sleep 2 or 3 with twin beds and an extra bed. 1 bedroom apartments sleep up to 4 with a twin bedroom and 1 or 2 extra beds in the lounge.
