Sandwiched between countryside and coast, Possidi Holidays has a setting that’s hard to beat.

Possidi Holidays is nestled among thick pine forests and olive groves, which spill down to a golden, sandy beach. You’ll find a refreshments shack-bar down on the sand, which is strung with hammocks and overflowing with al fresco seating spots. Come here for a drink, and you can look out at Mount Olympus in the distance.

Just a few steps from the beach is a large, circular swimming pool. It’s edged by ivory cushioned loungers, pink flowers and palm trees, and comes with a separate paddling pool just for children.

At mealtimes, the hotel’s Myrtia restaurant puts on Mediterranean buffets, which include a wide range of meat, fish and pasta. There are regular themed nights, as well, with the likes of Italian and barbecue fare on offer. If you fancy being waited on, meanwhile, try the à la carte Magnolia Tavern. This place specialises in Greek food and fresh fish, accompanied by local wine plucked from the hotel’s well-stocked cellar.
