With its beachfront setting and wraparound tropical gardens, the Hotel Reef is a peaceful sanctuary.

The Hotel Reef is set on the white sands of Nyali Beach, and serves up spectacular views of the Indian Ocean. It’s a 10-minute stroll from the resort centre’s shops, markets and restaurants from here so, despite the peaceful setting, you’re not too far off the beaten path.

The hotel grounds are cloaked in palm-dotted gardens, which attract local monkeys and exotic birds. The greenery gives way to 2 swimming pools, one of which is a lagoon-style number that comes with a built-in whirlpool bath and a swim-up bar.

When it comes to dining, you’ve got a choice between a buffet restaurant, which specialises in international and African cuisine, and an open-air à la carte grill. There are regular themed nights in the buffet eatery, with the likes of Chinese, Lebanese and barbecue dishes on offer. Best of all, you can enjoy your dinner against a soundtrack of live music.
