A pretty complex within easy reach of Kamari’s town centre, the Hotel Aegean Plaza makes for a great Santorini base.

The Hotel Aegean Plaza is less than a 5-minute walk from the shops, restaurants and bars in Kamari’s town centre. It’s the same distance from the nearest beach, which showcases the black sand that nods to the island’s volcanic origins.

The hotel is spread out among pastel-painted and cobbled-stone blocks, which are cloaked in ivy and bougainvillea. Palm-flanked walkways help you navigate the place and, among the greenery, you’ll find 2 swimming pools. The first has a section especially for children, and a neighbouring bar offering cocktails and snacks. The second is hidden away at the back of the property, and is really peaceful.

In the mornings, you’ll be treated to a buffet breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant, which looks out over the pool area. Line up at the cooking stations for made-to-order omelettes and pancakes.
