We all went ‘ahh, bless’ when our rep’s notes arrived about this place. He described the Dimitra as ‘basic, family-run, apartments where mama and papa don’t speak English’. Along with a pair of friendly owners, this place has a cutesy look and feel. It’s a modern take on the traditional Greek sugarcube cluster, complete with trellises and bougainvillea. And while the rooms are certainly no-frills, they go down the simple Med route – rustic furniture, whitewashed walls, and daubs of blue. Plus, they’re fairly well set up for self-catering with electric rings and fridges. Location-wise, the beach is a couple of minutes’ stroll while the centre of town is ten minutes away.
