Boasting sea views and a great pool scene, the San Giorgio Hotel makes the perfect Greek escape.

This contemporary hotel knows a thing or two about location. Slinking gradually up an olive-clad hillside overlooking the Ionian Sea, it treats guests to hard-to-beat views. What's more, the property runs a regular shuttle bus to Skala, so you can be in the heart of town in less than ten minutes

As for the accommodation, the hotel is made up of pastel coloured buildings that are just as attractive as the views they look out on. Dotted around neat green lawns, the accommodation is a mix of studios and apartments. Each is kitted out with simple and stylish décor – expect fresh cream walls and tiled floors. Mod-cons include air-conditioning and fridges, while a few apartments also throw in a kitchenette.

Outside, meanwhile, you can take your pick from two sea-facing swimming pools. They’re framed by manicured lawns and spacious terraces peppered with sunbeds and parasols.

Lastly, there’s the dining scene to consider. Morning brings a Continental breakfast. Evening meals, meanwhile, are waiter service – expect a mix of regional cuisine and international dishes on the menu.
