This modern hotel may not be directly on the beach, but it’s still in a great spot for a relaxing holiday. Set back from the beach at Hurghada, it’s a three-minute walk to the sands. What’s more, the beach is private and comes equipped with cushioned sunloungers and a restaurant, so you can spend the day there. A dive school with watersports and scuba courses rounds things off.

Back at the hotel, the main building opens onto pretty gardens awash with palms, flowering beds and lawns. There's even a waterfall hidden away. At the heart of everything is a lovely pool with a pavilion-style bar. Palms and sunbeds line the water's edge and if you fancy picking up the pace, there are two tennis courts nearby.

When it comes to food, international-style buffets are laid on for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the light and airy Club House.
