The Aparthotel Bueno is ideal for a quiet holiday. The property is just a couple of minutes’ walk from Platanias Beach, whose sands run the full eight kilometres into Rethymnon. What’s more, it’s tucked away on a peaceful side street, with gardens around it.

The swimming scene here is impressive. You can choose between two pools – a small one beside the apartments and a large one overlooking the beach. Both come with sunbeds and parasols, with the beachside pool adding sunbathing lawns into the equation. Plus, there are two bars where you can grab drinks and hot snacks. Children can enjoy themselves here, too, thanks to a mini-football pitch and playground.

In the mornings, a simple buffet breakfast is served in the restaurant. And you can pull up a seat at the beachfront taverna for Greek dishes when lunch and dinner come around. And if you’d rather eat out, Platanias’ restaurants are nearby and Rethymnon is a short cab ride away.
