A winding track from the small village of Latchi leads to this lovely hillside villa. It’s set in the thick of nature, surrounded by patchwork fields and tree-stacked mountains. So not only are the views first class, but it all makes for great walking territory, too. And when you fancy getting out and about, Latchi’s shops, restaurants and beach are just a 15-minute stroll away.

When a bit of R&R is in order, though, pick a spot by Ira’s swimming pool. It’s bordered by a spacious sun terrace, complete with loungers and umbrellas to help you take advantage of the views. Plus there’s a gazebo and barbecue for those al fresco meals.

Step inside and you’ll find a spacious place for six. The open-plan lounge and dining room is dressed in mellow coastal tones, and comes with a TV and air-conditioning. There are large patio doors, too, which keep things light and airy. Leading off from the dining room is the kitchen, kitted out with all the self-catering essentials, plus added extras like a dishwasher. There are three bedrooms here – one double and two twins – which all come with en suites. The two upstairs bedrooms have balconies, too, which look out over the surrounding countryside.

Last but not least, Villa Ira sits next to another property, called Villa Athina. And while it’s far enough away to ensure you have plenty of privacy, it’s really handy if you’re coming away with another family – you can have one and they can have the other.
