Palmyra Studios details
Modern studios, a pretty poolside, and Nidri's beach footsteps away - the Palmyra is spot on for simple breaks in the sun.
This little complex has strayed from the usual rustic Greek formula and taken something of a funkier route. Busy with lots of off buzz. A favourite, too, with Greek families, especially in August!
Step inside the studios and you’re met with deep pink bedspreads, trendy sofas and voile drapes at the windows. The effect is cosy and contemporary at the same time. And although the studios are relatively small, they’re well equipped with neat kitchenettes, balconies and satellite TVs.
The owners have taken a modern approach to the outside, too. Traditional Greek architecture has given way to sleek lines and boxy balconies painted in burnt reds and oranges. Down by the pool, bistro tables hug the water’s edge, along with rows of sunloungers and parasols. There’s a sunbathing lawn alongside and, at one end of the pool, a stylish corner bar serving light bites. Come dusk, the scene changes with spotlights lighting up the ornamental palms.
Looks aside, it’s very much about location here. Tucked down a quiet side street, the Palmyra is just a few steps from Nidri’s beach - 30 metres to be exact. The centre of Nidri is close by, too. Just stroll for 300 metres or so along the beachfront and you’re right in the thick of things.
