Girassol Villa has a secluded plot in the countryside, just a five-minute drive from Albandeira beach. It lies at the end of a long driveway, so it’s quiet and peaceful.

It’s a substantial villa that sleeps up to 8 across 4 bedrooms. Looks-wise, they’ve been decorated in a pared-down fashion. White walls and tiled floors provide the canvas for elegant Victorian-esque beds and bedside tables topped with vintage-style lamps. The bedrooms are split across the ground and first floor, but it’s the twin on the first floor that comes with an added bonus - it’s got doors that lead out on to a private sunbathing terrace.

Elsewhere, there’s the open-plan lounge-come-dining room. Kitted out with a plump green sofa and armchair and fireplace, it’s got a warm and homely feel. Couple that with the fact it’s got big sliding doors that lead out on to a roomy veranda, and it’s quite a versatile space, too.

Outside, steps from the veranda lead down to a vast terrace with a roomy rectangular pool set in the middle. Sunbeds, and a built-in barbecue round at the front of the villa complete the scene.
