Claudia Casa is part of a set of converted farm buildings in rural Tuscany. To give you an idea just how rural, the nearest shops are a 30-minute walk away – or a ten-minute drive. San Gimignano, the closest town, is a little further – about 15 minutes in the car.

The villa itself is a really olde worlde affair, with chunky wooden furniture and exposed beam ceilings. There’s an open plan living area on the ground floor, where the lounge, dining room and kitchen are all rolled into one communal space. As for the bedrooms, there are two doubles here. The first is upstairs and the second is downstairs.

The villa also has access to a terrace and lawn, where a table and chair set are shaded by a cane canopy. The villa’s owner, who sometimes uses a self-contained apartment beneath the villa, also has access to this space, so practice your Italian and you might be able to impress him with it if he drops in to enjoy the sun.

Lastly, there’s the swimming pool. It’s shared with 11 other apartments so it’s bigger than your average villa pool. It’s set in gardens about a minute’s walk from this house.
