With its sweeping views and classic Italian interiors, the Grand Hotel Ambasciatori offers up a taste of la dolce vita.
The Grand Hotel Ambasciatori is set on the edge of a cliff that nosedives into the Mediterranean Sea, which means you can look forward to sweeping panoramas of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The property is also well-placed for exploring Sorrento – it’s just a ten-minute walk into the heart of town from here.
The hotel was built back in the Fifties, so it’s got a vintage Italian feel. The lobby, for example, is styled with polished marble floors, grand chandeliers and antiques. And, over in Le Muse restaurant, pristine white table linen sits alongside gold gilt-framed mirrors. The restaurant’s al fresco terrace is also the best place in town for a sunset meal.
Outside, leafy gardens give way to a good-sized swimming pool. There’s a bar out here, too, that doubles as a barbecue grill come lunchtime. And, in the summer months, there’s an elevator that’ll whisk you down to a private bathing platform.
