Set by a wide sandy beach and within easy reach of Florence and Pisa, the Grand Continental is perfectly placed for experiencing the best of Tuscany.

This large, modern hotel is right by a sandy beach in the resort of Tirrenia. It’s well situated for exploring Tuscany – local buses to Pisa take around half an hour, while Florence and Lucca can easily be reached by train. Venture further into the Tuscan countryside and you’ll find a patchwork of vineyards, sunflower fields and postcard-perfect hilltop towns.

The hotel’s pool is Olympic-sized and one of the biggest on the Tuscan Riviera. It’s bordered by a large sun terrace with loungers and royal-blue parasols. There are also loungers available on the beach. It’s a wide stretch of sand, so there’s plenty of room. The sea here is calm, which is great for younger children and less confident swimmers.

Light and airy rooms are simply furnished, with wooden furniture and white-tiled bathrooms. Some rooms have balconies with sea views.

Dinner is served as a buffet spread in the hotel's spacious dining rooms. Dishes include Tuscan specialities such as risotto and seafood pasta. During the summer, the hotel also serves a buffet lunch beside the pool.
