With a first class setting and a restaurant to rival a top London eatery, the Grand Hotel Aminta makes a luxurious retreat.

Set on a green hillside just outside Sorrento proper, the Grand Hotel Aminta looks out over the Bay of Naples to Mount Vesuvius beyond, so the views are pretty spectacular to say the least.

Views aside, the hotel itself is pretty special. Take the bedrooms for instance. They’ve got a smart and simple look that’s complimented by brightly striped bed linen. Rounding things off are mod-cons like air-conditioning, satellite TVs and free Wi-Fi.

Lastly, there’s the dining scene to consider. With several awards to its name, the Aminta gets top marks on the food front. Breakfast is all about continental buffet spreads, while dinner is a more formal affair – think bow-tie waiter service and à la carte cuisine.
