This tiered hotel is pulled up against the coast and overlooks the Adriatic Sea. Beautifully designed, it's modern and elegant in equal measure.

This sophisticated 5-star property is tiered into a cliffside overlooking the Adriatic and connects down to a small rocky beach with bathing platforms. It's about a 20-minute walk from the old town of Dubrovnik, which is set in the next bay along from the hotel.

The hotel itself has just been given a facelift. It's now decorated in calming neutrals and adorned with sleek contemporary furniture. The architects dedicated two stories of the hotel to the wellness centre. This Zen-like retreat features a Turkish hammam and a vitamin bar. As well as the spa, other 5-star accoutrements come courtesy of the in-room plasma TVs and a casino.

Mealtimes centre around the Mozaik buffet restaurant. There are also two à la carte eateries – one International and one seafood – complete with wine sommeliers and executive chefs.
