This place has a 21st-century edge. From the outside, it’s a vision in sleek white tiles. Inside, the set-up is minimalist through and through. Cue a lobby graced with glass, brushed steel and funky seating cubes. What’s more, because the hotel only has 51 rooms, it has an intimate vibe that fits with the boutique interiors.

As for the location, the hotel’s tucked into a hillside along Lapad Bay. There’s a man-made beach of concrete platforms just below, too. Plus, you’ll find restaurants and shops close by, as well as a bus stop with regular buses to Dubrovnik’s old town.

When it comes to food, the Mantala restaurant serves up buffet breakfasts and dinners. Food-wise, expect global and Croatian buffets with soups, salads, meat and fish among your options.

The pool is a smallish, infinity-style number on the front terrace, so it’s in a prime spot for enjoying the views. There’s another pool – this time an indoor one – in the spa. Talking of which, the spa has a great range of pampering treatments, too.
