Hotel Uvala details
Offering modern accommodation in a beachside setting close to town, the Hotel Uvala is a real 21st-century vacation getaway. From the exterior, it’s a sight to be seen, offering sharp white tiles to set the sun washed scene. Inside, its minimalist throughout, the lobby is finished in glass, brushed steel and chic seating cubes. The hotel only has 51 rooms, so things are intimate.
The hotel is tucked into a hillside along Lapad Bay, the nearby beach is manmade, and offers concrete platforms to spread out on. There are also restaurants and shops close by, as well as a bus stop with regular buses to Dubrovnik’s old town.
The Mantala restaurant offers buffet breakfasts and dinners, it’s finished with white linen and cool blue walls, it opens out onto to a stunning steel-pillared terrace looking out over the bay. Expect global and Croatian buffets with soups, salads, meat and fish. There’s a small, infinity pool on the front terrace, as well as another pool inside in the spa, which offers a great range of pampering treatments, too. Rooms are simple spaces, with satellite TVs and air-conditioning, and balconies so you can relax outside. To make the most of the location, though, choose a seafront room with a view of the bay.
