For a tremendous value holiday at Dubrovnik, the Hotel Komodor is a small and friendly hotel that is well-located for exploring this historic and beautiful part of Croatia. Located some four kilometres from Dubrovnik old town, at the head of the bay of Lapad, you will find that you are only 50 metres from a small pebble beach, and there are plenty of local shops and restaurants nearby. The Komodor itself is in a traditional stone building but a recent refurbishment means the interiors are bright and modern. Outside there’s a small pool with its own sun terrace and a poolside bar, and inside there’s a fitness centre with a sauna. Tennis is available at sister hotels nearby.

In the evenings, you’ll dine al fresco under the shelter of an ancient vine – be sure not to miss the weekly Dalmatian gala dinner. Inside, there’s a pleasant lounge bar that is just the place for an aperitif or maybe a nightcap before you turn in. The bedrooms here are spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning and satellite TV.
