For travellers looking for a budget holiday on the Greek island of Symi the Anastasoulla Mouragio will place you right in the heart of Symi Town. This will be an authentic experience of Greek life in a lovely old fishing port that stretches up the hill from its charming harbour. A few minutes’ walk from the beach or the harbour will take you up to the Anastasoulla Mouragio – but steep steps mean that it is not a good choice for those with walking difficulties. However, this elevated location does allow for some superb views down towards the harbour.

The accommodation here comprises six twin-bedded studios, each of which can sleep up to three people. All of the units have air conditioning (local charge) and kitchenettes, and most are accessed via a steep spiral staircase. Inside, the studios are clean and bright, with white walls and simple furniture. Overall, these traditional-style studios have proved very popular, not least because of their great central location.
