Small hotel, big character – that’s the Anaxos Aparthotel on Lesbos. First off, you’ll get a real taste of genuine Greek hospitality at this friendly little establishment – it’s one of those places that people come back to time and time again. Not least because of its excellent restaurant, a bright and breezy dining room with a traditional beamed ceiling where you’ll get to sample superb Greek food. The accommodation itself is self-catering, in studios that sleep either two or three people, with kitchenettes, air conditioning and either a balcony or terrace.

Outside, the Anaxos has a lovely pool with a separate children’s area, surrounded by sun terraces that give you a great view across to the sea; just the place to contemplate the view with a cocktail from the poolside bar. On the other hand, you might prefer to swim in the sea rather than just stare at it. No problem, it’s only 50 metres away and the beach here is fantastic – soft golden sand. The hotel is also well located for the bars and tavernas of the resort of Anaxos, a tiny village with a big beach.
