Charming and rustic, the Hotel Astoria in Troulos represents excellent value for money and is place you’ll probably want to return to year after year. A traditional Greek-style property that has been recently renovated, this is the perfect destination for a quiet break or as a base for exploring the fascinating island of Skiathos. Outside there is a small pool surrounded by chic wooden loungers and serviced by a friendly pool bar. Inside, the decor is a stylish mix of modern and traditional, and there is a small restaurant serving buffet breakfasts and a lounge bar. The bedrooms are well-designed and elegant, with the option of air conditioning (payable locally) and either a balcony or a terrace.

The Astoria is just 200 metres from the golden sands of Troulos beach; this tiny resort is set on a beautiful bay and surrounded by picturesque countryside, and has some excellent tavernas where you can sample the freshest local seafood. Skiathos Town is nine kilometres away and can be easily reached by bus.
