The Hotel Talayot has brilliant sea views and a central area in Cala Millor. The large white hotel has russet and dark wood, and an Alpine look. It’s by the promenade in the centre of Cala Millor and a Blue Flag beach is just a couple of minutes’ walk away.

The pool is surrounded by palm tree dotted gardens, it’s framed by an ample terrace. There’s also a kids’ pool and a snack bar. There is a disco twice a week, but there’s live music and shows four times a week. The hotel’s got a smart but laid-back vibe. And the lobby sets the tone perfectly. With marble floors under ceiling spotlights, and a black leather sofa zone, it’s classy but not stuffy. And the bedrooms are of a similar ilk. Cream walls blend well with simple light-wood furniture and peach-coloured soft furnishings. Plus they all have extras like satellite TVs, tea-and-coffee kits and small fridges.
