If your budget doesn’t stretch too far but you want a taste of Greek sunshine, the Marina Studios at Moraitika on Corfu could be the solution. This is a charming modern complex of 20 apartments that is well-located for the resort centre and only 500 metres from a gorgeous white sandy beach. Moraitika is a popular resort close to Corfu Town, with plenty of lively tavernas and buzzing bars. It makes a great base for exploring Corfu or for water sports and mountain biking.

The Marina Studios sit in an attractive garden and have a good sized pool surrounded by sun terraces and loungers. Although this a self-catering complex, you can get meals and snacks at the bar and there is free wifi throughout. The studios here can accommodate either two or three people; they are clean and bright with kitchenettes, private balconies and air conditioning (payable locally). Overall, a good choice for Crete on a budget.
