With a tranquil spa, chic restaurant and great cocktail bar, the Melia Sigtes Hotel serves up style and luxury in equal measure.

The Melia Sitges Hotel overlooks the Aiguadolç Marina, so views of the sea and the glossy yachts are a given. The property is also well-placed for getting out and about – Sitges’ beach and town centre are less than a 10-minute walk away.

The hotel’s ethos is on relaxation. You’ll find a large swimming pool in the heart of the grounds, edged by well-tended lawns and palm-freckled gardens. There’s also an onsite spa, which comes with a heated indoor pool, a sauna and steam baths, as well as cosy cabins for massage treatments.

The hotel’s restaurant also deserves special mention. With its black marble floors, chrome chairs and white leather sofas, it looks like it could have been lifted from Manhattan’s trendy Meatpacking District. And the food is just as upmarket – expect a mix of Spanish, international and Nouvelle dishes. After dinner, head to the Saffron Mediterranean Bistro, which has a never-ending cocktail list.
