You’ll find this tranquil hotel on the outskirts of Pefkos. It’s around a 20-minute walk from the heart of the village, plus there are a handful of bars and restaurants nearby if you don’t fancy the legwork. As for the nearest beach, there’s a quiet pebbly cove just a five-minute walk away, and a big sandy sweep hemming the village itself.

Design-wise, the property is a modern structure with a traditional Greek vibe. Think whitewashed walls, shuttered windows, flat roofs and elegant pillars. What’s more, it has recently been refurbished, so everything’s as up-to-date on the inside as it is on the out. Self-catering studios are done out in coffee-and-cream tones and fitted with kitchenettes. Outside, meanwhile, private balconies make great places to dine. If space is a priority, opt to stay in a two-bedroom apartment – they come with the added bonus of spacious lounge areas.

Step out into the gardens and the pool takes centre-stage. It’s a big rectangular number flanked by cushioned loungers. There’s a shaded veranda that horseshoes around the water’s edge – perfect if you want to escape the sunshine. And a poolside bar serves up refreshments throughout the day.

Last but not least, there’s the dining scene to consider. The food served up in the hotel’s restaurant is a mix of contemporary and traditional. We’re talking things like baked feta and fresh seafood, as well as home-from-home favourites like burgers and chips.
