A small and friendly hotel in Calangute, Goa, the Santa Monica has plenty to recommend it – from the charming and attentive staff to the cool blue pool with its separate children’s area. Add to that a location that puts you within an easy walk of Calangute’s centre, and you can see why this has become such a popular choice for a Goa holiday. The hotel’s whole vibe is one of authentic Indian hospitality, with it’s typical architecture in white and pale yellow and wrought iron balconies, friendly reception and clean bright interiors. The bedrooms are bright and simple, with local wooden furniture, extra seating areas, satellite TV, fridges, ceiling fans, air conditioning and balconies.

The hotel restaurant serves buffet breakfasts and waiter service lunch and dinner, and there’s also a snack bar out by the pool. The resort centre is just 50 metres from the Santa Monica, so it’s easy to find alternative restaurants, lively bars and explore the local markets. Calangute’s celebrated sandy beach is just 500 metres from the hotel and is thought to be one of Goa’s best.
