Red Sea Holidays

Amongst water sports enthusiasts, holidays on - and under - the Red Sea have become enormously popular over the last few decades. The Red Sea itself is the world's northernmost tropical sea, with an average temperature of 22°C. Diving here is legendary. Waters are clear, with a number of good wrecks, excellent, healthy reefs and plenty of colourful marine life, from beautiful flatworms, to larger creatures like the dugong. Sharm el Sheikh holidays are especially good for groups containing beginners or people who'd rather stay on land. The resort has over 50 dive schools, but the beaches are excellent and shopping here is lots of fun - just practice haggling and remember many places shut mid-afternoon, for siesta.
