The Aeolis Aparthotel is set on a hill in a quiet spot just a short walk from the beach, and 15-minutes from Molyvos. It’s a typically Aegean affair, with little whitewashed houses clustered around flashes of pink bougainvillea.

Inside, the bedrooms are pretty straightforward. White walls and pale tiled floors give way to pine furniture and little homely touches like pictures on the walls. They’re all air-conditioned and come kitted out with TVs and fridges. But the best bit has to be the balconies. Because you’re up on a hill, the views from here swoop right down to the sea.

The pool area has an impressive vantage point, too. It’s like a little plateau carved into the hillside. From here the views spread across to Molyvos, its Byzantine castle and down to the sea. And at night, the sunsets up here are just beautiful. The sun terrace is dotted with sunbeds and parasols, and the pool is a decent size so it’s a great spot to unwind.

Another hub area is the lounge - a bright and airy space kitted out with comfy sofas, little indoor palms and marble floors. But it’s the dining room next door that takes the spotlight when it comes to décor. It’s painted with scenic murals of Grecian columns with a backdrop of gently rolling hills.
