The Anassa Villas are tailor-made for those seeking chic and modern rather than traditional and stone. In a complex of three, these newly-built villas have whitewashed exteriors and are cube shaped. At the front, there’s a flower-lined driveway. And, at the rear, each villa has a patio with sunloungers which overlook their own, rectangular plunge pool.

Inside, the urban design mixes white walls with granite-coloured feature walls, and the polished marble floors reflect the downlights. Plus, for that extra designer element – there’s a flatscreen TV. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, along with all the essentials you’d expect. And the five chrome-and-white stools that hug the breakfast bar add an informal feel. The stylish decor extends to the bedrooms, too. They’re twee-free and have sliding patio doors that open out onto a private terrace with sea views. And, just so you know, there are pool towels supplied.

The Anassa Villas are a 20-minute walk – or five-minute drive – from Kamina and Mounda beaches. Both are protected areas for turtles, and have sand and shingle shores. Plus, drive for a further five-minutes, and you’ll arrive in Ratzakli’s village centre which has a mini-market and coffee shops. The resort of katelios, meanwhile, is also a short drive away and is home to shops, bars and restaurants, many of which specialise in fish.
