When we discovered the casual elegance of Villa Ayse, we fell in love with it and so did you - so much so that it is one of our most popular villas. So we were delighted to see that the owner’s secret hideaway cottage - Caria Villa - had the same individual touches, this time with a harmonious Eastern flavour.

As soon as you arrive at the terracotta-coloured property, you’ll notice the warm and inviting ambience. Outside, there are plenty of relaxation spots, from the tree-framed infinity pool, to the al fresco dining terrace. There’s even a canopied area on the decking – great when the sun gets too hot.

As for the interior, the Ottoman theme is lightly done. Throughout the property you’ll find beautiful arch-shaped doorways, muslin curtains and traditional kilims spread across the flooring. On the ground floor, there’s a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area with wall tapestries and large French windows. And on the upper floor, the king-sized pool-view bedroom and cool blue shower room add to the exotic allure.

When it comes to location, you’ll find plenty of charming spots around the Bodrum Peninsula. A ten-minute drive will take you to Gundogan beach or Yalikavak village centre where there’s a selection of restaurants around the harbour.

Please note: due to the open staircases in the villa, this property is unsuitable for anyone with walking difficulties. A deposit of £150 in sterling is required on arrival. No smoking is allowed in the villa.
