This hotel has got a great location – it’s right on a white-sand beach, about 5 minutes’ drive from the centre of Bavaro. The whole place is set in palm-filled gardens, with brightly coloured buildings adding to the tropical feel.
At the centre is the pool. It’s a huge, lagoon-like number with a thatched-roof swim-up bar. Around the pool you’ve got a whopping 5 restaurants to pick from – a buffet one, plus à la cartes that tick off Italian, Chinese, Mexican and gourmet cuisine. There’s a seafood place on the beach, too, and a snack bar that serves up light bites like burgers, hot dogs and salads.
In terms of activities, the list ticks off things like scuba sessions, dance classes and Spanish lessons, plus sports like tennis and basketball. After dark, the entertainment line-up includes live music, colourful shows and a disco.
