The Gran Hotel Guadalpin Banus is on the beachfront on the edge of Puerto Banus. The surroundings are peaceful, but it’s only a 15-minute stroll to the bars and boutiques of the town centre. The walk will take you past the harbour’s glossy yachts.
The hotel swimming pool is set in a terrace just above the beach and, thanks to its raised position, you can enjoy sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea from your sun lounger. There are lots of them, and they’re edged by smart ivory umbrellas. Little ones have their own paddling pool.
In the Lorea restaurant, you can sample Mediterranean fare alongside specialities from Spain’s northern Basque region, like tender beef chops and grilled lamb fillet. For after-dinner cocktails, there’s a lobby bar, where you can sip martinis, cosmopolitans and more than 20 different types of whisky. It’s an elegant set-up, with wood-panelled walls and patterned designer armchairs.
