For a friendly, laid-back vibe and easy access to the beach and town centre, the Hotel Orion hits the mark.

The Hotel Orion is less than a five-minute walk from Bitez’s shops, restaurants and beach, so it’s perfectly placed for getting out and about. What’s more, if you want to explore your surroundings, Gumbet and Bodrum are both less than a ten-minute drive away.

Looks-wise, this is a Turkish property through and through – expect whitewashed walls, dark-wood balconies and thick greenery creeping its way up the buildings.

The hotel’s focal point is its swimming pool, which is set in a sunny terrace that’s studded with loungers and parasols. There’s also a bar, where you can sip cocktails under the shade of a wooden pergola.

As for the bedrooms, they’re painted in white and have simple, pine-wood furnishings. A splash of colour comes courtesy of marigold bedspreads, and each one has a French balcony, which looks out over the pool or the gardens.
