The Olhuveli Beach and Spa Resort brings the travel magazine photographs of the Maldives to life. The hotel is set in a topaz lagoon in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and it’s circled by white beaches and leafy palms.

When it comes to accommodation, the deluxe rooms come with four-poster beds and views of the beach. Alternatively, for the true Maldives experience, you can upgrade to a water villa, which sits on stilts over the lagoon.

The hotel’s facilities have been built with relaxation in mind. There are two infinity pools to unwind in, plus a luxury spa, where the treatments include flower baths and sand massages.

In the evenings, there are three restaurants to choose from, serving everything from a la carte Asian food to buffets of spicy prawns and made-to-order pasta. If you’d rather dine in private, the hotel can arrange experiences like candle-lit meals on the beach and private barbecues. Later, the entertainment options range from karaoke to crab races.

Jacuzzi™ water villas offer a greater degree of luxury with a Jacuzzi™ bath on the sundeck and a bathroom with a rolltop bath and rain shower. Minimum age 12 years.
