Sheraton Soma Bay Hotel details
An infinity pool guarded by sphinxes and Egyptian temple architecture make the Sheraton Soma Bay a hotel fit for a pharaoh. On a raised terrace overlooking the beach, the hotel’s pool area is an Egyptian fantasy, with three angular pools, a pyramid shaped fountain, a swim-up bar, obelisks and shaded pagodas. Inside and out, the hotel resembles an ancient temple, with vast sandstone columns, marble floors, braziers on the walls and Moorish design details. The hotel has three restaurants, for buffet dining, Italian a la carte and the beach grill, and there are four bars. There is also a fabulous sports complex with three tennis courts, a squash court, croquet and mini football, as well as a PADI dive centre and water sports on the beach.
The bedrooms at the Sheraton Soma Bay are wonderfully comfortable with pale neutral colour schemes, with air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, satellite TV, bathrobes and a balcony or terrace with garden view. Upgrades are available to sea views, side sea views and junior suites. The hotel is located on a broad sweep of sandy beach 45 miles south of Hurghada.
