Set in the centre of Rabac, the Hotel Amfora has a friendly, home-from-home atmosphere.

Right in the heart of the city, this miniature hotel is the ideal base for exploring Rabac. As well as being just footsteps from shops, restaurants and bars, it’s only a couple of minutes’ walk from the beach.

When you’re not checking out the sights, the hotel’s garden is a great place for relaxing. A mini swimming pool is set into a huge lounger-and-table-dotted terrace, while a grassy lawn is studded with a few trees. There’s a bar out here, too, complete with picnic-style tables and a good selection of drinks and snacks.

Elsewhere, the hotel’s main eatery serves up all-you-can-eat breakfasts and dinners. In the mornings, tuck into eggs, pastries and fresh fruit. In the evenings, meanwhile, pile your plates high with the likes of fish, pasta and salad. Looks-wise, the restaurant is understatedly stylish, with peach-coloured pillars and white table cloths giving it a traditional feel.

The bedrooms here are simple but comfy affairs, with whitewashed walls and pine furniture as standard. Patterned soft furnishings add a splash of colour, while mod-cons come in the form of air-conditioning and satellite TVs. Almost all of the rooms come with balconies, too – for the best views, request one that looks out over the sea. However, as there are no lifts in the hotel, it is not suitable for less mobile guests.
