The Hotel Galaxy is in a really convenient spot. It’s just a couple of minutes’ walk from the nearest supermarket, 5 minutes from the heart of Thassos Town, and around 15 minutes from a sandy beach.
Despite being close to everything, the property is lovely and quiet. It’s surrounded by green fields and set against a backdrop of the island’s forested mountains. For the best view of the countryside, seek out the hotel’s swimming pool, which is set in a sunny terrace freckled with sunbeds and tropical shrubs.
Every morning, the hotel owners lay out a traditional Greek breakfast. There are breads, cold meats, cheeses, yoghurt and honey. You can eat indoors or out on the terrace, which looks out over the surrounding greenery.
