New for May 2013, this villa is a brightly-decorated affair that’s close to both ancient Thassos Town and sandy Tarsanas Beach.

This place is rooted at the bottom of a hill that rises up behind Thassos Town. Inside, it’s nice and bright, with big windows that let plenty of sunshine into the downstairs living area. Tiled floors and cream walls make the décor typically Greek, while the 2 double bedrooms follow a similar, homely theme.

When it comes to the kitchenette, this one’s got all the mod-cons and the dining area has a table that’s just the right size for a family feast. The balcony is furnished with a dark wood table and chair set, so you can take your meals al fresco with views of the mountains and the Aegean Sea.

A private pool is just a few steps from the front door. Sea swimmers should take a 10-minute walk to Tarsanas Beach, a sandy place that has a shady backdrop of trees.

The centre of Thassos Town – or Limenas, as it’s locally known – is less than a 20-minute walk away. It’s a modern town spread out behind an old-world fishing port that brims with café-bars, tavernas, and a range of Roman relics.
