This rather grand-looking villa is in a residential district of Nerja. Quiet, shingle beaches are only a ten-minute walk away, the centre of town a five-minute drive.

As for the villa itself, you’ll find an open-plan living and dining area. It mixes modern and traditional, with contemporary furniture, simple décor and a brick fireplace that’s an eye-catching feature. Large windows keep things bright and airy, while nice-to-have extras include a satellite TV and a DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped with a hob, oven, and fridge freezer. There’s even a dishwasher – after all, nobody wants to be on dishes duty on holiday.

Upstairs, meanwhile, there are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed and an en suite bathroom. French windows open out onto a large furnished terrace, with views over the surrounding fields and hills. The other two bedrooms have two single beds each. They’re all fairly simply dressed, so think fuss-free whitewashed walls, iron bed-frames and solid wood furniture. The two rooms share a second bathroom, which has a bathtub with an overhead shower. The pièce de résistance though, has to be the roof terrace on the next level, where you can look over neighbouring rooftops and out to the countryside.

You’ll also get to admire the view from outside the villa. On the ground floor there’s a covered al fresco dining area, which is a great place for a tapas lunch. A few stairs lead you to a sundeck with loungers and a private pool, so you can while away the hours just footsteps from your door.
