5T beachfront luxury in a Red Sea setting - the Sofitel Taba Heights is as indulgent as they come

Locations don’t get much better than this. Set in tropical gardens just steps from its own beach, the hotel offers up widescreen views of the Gulf of Aqaba, Meanwhile, the Sinai Mountains provide the backdrop.

The hotel itself is a high design, no-expense-spared kind of place. In terms of size, it’s positively palatial. And style-wise, it’s a similar story. Arabian domes, Roman columns and Moorish arches come together in an architectural triumph.

Indoors, meanwhile, you can expect more of the same. The lobby has a domed ceiling of epic proportions. Supported by Romanesque pillars and painted with a starry nightscape, it rises above glossy marble floors and a garden-edged water feature.

As for the bedrooms, they’re Classical spaces where warms colours and dark-wood furniture come teamed with big matching beds and comfy chairs. Extras like minibars and satellite TVs come as standard.

A lot of thought has gone into the restaurants, too. In Aladdin, they've kept things simple with serve-yourself stations, marble floors, and deep-cushioned chairs. Over in L’Asiatique, specialities from all over the Orient are served up alongside amazing sea views.

Outside, it's the massive, lagoon-style swimming pools that steal the show. Stretching along the seafront, they’re accessorised with whirlpool baths, Roman steps and islands.
