The Sonesta St George serves up holidays with an exclusive edge.

The Nile snakes right past the Sonesta, so views from here are impressive to put it mildly. During the day you can watch the cruise ships sail by, but it’s during the evening this place really comes into its own – the sunsets here are beautiful.

As for the hotel itself, there’s no mistaking its 5 star credentials. Think gleaming marble floors, sparkling chandeliers and Saville Row-smart bellboys. What’s more, the standard rooms have recently been renovated. Balconies come as standard, too, so you can enjoy the river views.

On the food front, the Sonesta serves up enough bars and restaurants to eat in a different one every day of the week. And, décor-wise, they could rival the style and elegance of any top London eatery.

The hotel offers plenty in the way of R&R, too. Head for the sanctuary-like spa or laze by the river-facing pool.
