This lovely stone-built villa has been decorated in traditional Menorcan style, with whitewashed walls, terracotta-tiled floors and beamed ceilings. There are 2 bedrooms – 1 double and 1 twin – and a spacious living room with comfy sofas and a wood-burning stove. The kitchen is smart and well-equipped, with an oven, hob, microwave and fridge. Doors from here lead outside to a shaded terrace area with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. A barbecue is provided for guests as well.

Also outside is the small, private pool. Surrounding it is a large, stone terrace, with sunloungers and parasols. There’s also a lawn area, a small vegetable garden and plenty of trees providing shade.

The villa is in a peaceful location, at the end of a quiet lane. The centre of Menorca’s old capital, Ciudadela, is a 15-minute walk away. It’s a typically Spanish city, with a lovely harbour area. The white-sand beach at Cala’n Blanes is about 10 minutes away by car, as is the lively resort of Cala’n Forcat.
