A modern villa with fabulous views of the mountains, Villa Elefante mixes good looks with a great location.

If you want a little peace and quiet without being too far off the beaten track, this place should be at the top of your list. It’s less than a ten-minute drive from the centre of Javea, and just five minutes from shops, bars and restaurants. There are also a couple of eateries within easy walking distance.

Inside, things are bright and modern. In the living-come-dining room, tiled flooring and whitewashed walls are offset with fiery-orange sofas and sunshine-yellow curtains. A large-screen TV and a smart dining table with black leather chairs add a contemporary zip.

The cheerful vibe continues in the bedrooms. You’ll find two twin rooms and a double on the ground floor, plus a double with an en suite bathroom upstairs. They’re all dressed in warm tones of red, orange and yellow, with trendy Spanish artwork lining the walls. Elsewhere, there’s a spacious kitchen kitted out with essentials like an oven, grill and fridge-freezer.

Head outside, meanwhile, and you’ll find the pool. It’s set in the centre of a paved terrace and flanked by sand-coloured rocks, greenery and loungers. Best of all, the views from up here are something else – you can see out as far as the Montgo Mountains. You’ve got a barbecue and a seating area, too, so al fresco meals are taken care of.
