Location • In lush grounds overlooking the bustling city of Funchal, approx. 30 minutes from the airport. FEATURES • The hotel is designed using many natural materials, it is at one with the lush environment around, encased by borders of varying shades of green, resulting in an almost oriental style and feel. The outdoor heated swimming pool is set amongst the gardens whilst an indoor pool is available at The Elemis Spa which has been previously voted into the world’s top 10 spas at the Conde Nast Traveller’s readers ‘Spa Awards’. Xopana Restaurant is set in a wooden built room with its cathedral ceiling housing the Balsalt Bar and terrace above. The lounge is the venue for afternoon tea, and guests can also enjoy the walk along the levada (mini-canal) to the gardens of Monte Palace and cooking classes with the hotel chef. ACCOMMODATION • Each of the spacious 58 rooms and four suites are set amongst the resorts gardens. With solid wood floors and ceilings and warm hued fabrics, all have a minibar, tea making facilities, Nespresso coffee machines, television and DVD player and large decked veranda.
