Hotel Villa Pina details

Away from it all. Family-run. And home to one of the Neapolitan Riviera’s most prestigious restaurants. Welcome to the Hotel Villa Pina.

This place is as Italian as they come. Take the lounge, for instance. All dark wood furniture and decorative wall plates, it feels like the inside of a little old nonna’s casa.

Likewise the food. It’s all about mama’s home cooking here. In fact, the food’s so good that people flock from far and wide to sample the traditional Neapolitan dishes. Celebs have even been known to drop in, including the late, great Pavarotti. Not only is the menu the talk of the town, but the restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows offer up breathtaking views of Capri and the Bay of Naples.

And there’s plenty more in the way of spellbinding scenes up on the roof terrace. As to location, Villa Pina sits either side of the main Sorrentine coastal road. It’s rural. It’s isolated. And it’s far from the madding crowd.

Having said that, hop on the bus from just outside the hotel and in ten minutes you’re in the cutesy town of Massa Lubrense. Head in the other direction and you can make a beeline for Sorrento. Or stay local and walk along the coastal paths past lemon and olive groves. Wander down the hotel’s private lane, meanwhile, and you’ll come to Puolo Beach.

On the accommodation front, the bedrooms are simple, sparsely furnished and immaculately clean. And if you need anything, simply ask. Hotel Villa Pina is a family-run guesthouse, presided over by Mrs Pina and her children, Francesco and Firminia, and they’re only too happy to help.
